Like most things, I just couldn't stand waiting for my new bike.

On Monday, April 12th 2004, I decided to leave work early. I was headed home to convince my wife that I needed that new bike. I knew she wanted a treadmill, so I thought we'd go buy some toys. When I got home early, she knew exactly why I was home.

She surprised me. She didn't want the treadmill, at least not right now. Instead, she wanted a Walkman that she could listen to why the kids and I were riding.

We grabbed the "emergency" credit card, and headed off. We were both starving, so we had lunch first, then we headed over to Bingham Cyclery. I looked at several other bikes, and settled on a 2004 Specialized.



I rode the new bike off-and-on for a few hours. Mostly on the streets in front of our house, but we made a trip to a new bike park we heard about too. While riding, I pulled a muscle in my lower back. It continued to hurt for a few days afterwards.
